Under sun even nectarines grow

Already from a distance one sees it shining, the sweet fruits of Werner Schöttlers nectarine tree. In the middle in Kirchhundem and not in Spain or Greece this splendour copy stands. Before two and a half years Schöttler pulled “from a nectarine core” a seedling. The developed itself owing to good care protruding. In the past year the tree carried three fruits - in this year there is no less than 220 leckere nectarines.

How it came to such a large harvest, the hobby gardner can only suspect. “Beside the Nektarinenbäumchen a plum stands. Both rank among the stone fruit kind. In the previous year the plum tree had each quantity of fruits, now at all none”, and it assumed: “Perhaps the two always alternate.”
